Happy Thanksgiving!
So it's after 2 am and Hubby and I are up adding some finishing touches to our Thanksgiving meal. I took a very long nap and now I can't sleep any longer and since Hubby's body thinks it's a work day he's no where near sleepy, so what better way to spend the wee hours of the morning than cooking with each other.
Thanksgiving is such a great holiday, it's a time to get together with family and friends and enjoy each other's time. Although we definitely should not wait until the holidays to come together, it is still a great time to just relax with those you love and maybe those you haven't seen in a while.
Whatever the case may be we should definitely use this time and these few days off of work to just enjoy the blessings we often times take for granted. Being able to spend time with those you love, being able to fellowship over a hearty meal and also having a warm and loving home to do all these things with in are truly blessings that some one some where may not have the privilege or honor to have.
For those of us who have lost loved ones, the holiday season is very bittersweet. Try your very hardest not to dwell and linger on the actual lost but hold fast to the awesome memories of that love one. This will be my family's first year of holidays without my sister and let me tell you, it's a doozy! My niece just asked me today could I take her to go see her mommy and my mom had a rough day herself, so I definitely understand the toll the holidays can take on everyone. Myself, always having to, or feeling like I have to be the stronger vessel in this entire situation has to hold it together for their sakes. I usually have my time late in the midnight hour or when it's just Hubby and I. He always seems to know when I'm about to have a moment and he knows exactly what to do and I really appreciate him for that. It is a very good thing to have a support system, we support each other. Whenever anyone in the family seems a little down or we haven't heard from one another in a few days we are quick to send a text, make a call or even tag a post on Facebook. I mean we are family and family is all you have, blood or water, family is family.
This Thanksgiving don't just feed your face with piles and piles of good food but actually take some time to think of all the things you are truly thankful for and appreciate those things. As the old saying goes, count your blessings one by one! Enjoy your holiday and save me some leftovers, especially some good baked mac and cheese!
Until next time!
Crowns Galore
XOXO
